Ishkashim to Langar

Almost at the end of our Pamir adventure, we cycle up the Kyzyl Art pass and overnight at the Tajik border in an eerie cold building.

Karakul has one of the highest lakes in the world and it is stunning. We spent a day resting here at a homestay and strolling through the village.

The highest mountain pass waits for us at 4655 meters. We cycle out of Murgab and up the Ak-Baital pass where we meet again with 5 other cyclists.

After crossing the Khargush pass we finally made it to the M41 and in the meanwhile Martin broke his tooth :( we then stayed with a nice family and pushed our way with a nice tailwind to Murgab where we could re-stock our supplies.

The road out of Langar went up immediately and gave us a tough climb. Then the road levelled out and finally we found a campspot just across from an Afghan Camel Caravan. What a majestic sight!

Cycling east we had a tailwind and passed many small villages. We kept on having great views towards Afghanistan and Pakistan and stayed in a nice homestay in Langar.

Cycling out of Khorog we followed the Panj river. The road was fairly good and after two days and camping at Garm Chasma we reached Ishkashim.

Cycling out of Dushanbe we hit the gravel and made our way up the pass to 3200 meters in search for the Panj river.
